Today I played Bay Harbor. I was in a threesome, playing ahead of two couples, and behind two twosomes. We never caught the twosome ahead of us and the foursome behind us was never seen. It felt like we had the course to ourselves. . It was a perfect day for golf, made all the better by playing at a perfect pace. It was capped off with sitting outside the clubhouse overlooking the 9th hole of the Quarry on the shores of Lake Michigan while drinking a cold one. See the above image.

It was a busy day in the courts for cases with national interest. As I said yesterday, only the lawyers are the winners.
In Michigan A federal jury Tuesday convicted two men accused of orchestrating a plan to kidnap Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. The two men could receive life in prison.
In Georgia, more than two years after Rayshard Brooks, a 27-year-old Black man, was fatally shot by a police officer in the parking lot of an Atlanta fast-food restaurant, a prosecutor has determined that the officer who fired, as well as another officer on the scene, “committed no crimes” in the incident. There are no winners in this case.
In Kentucky, Kelly Goodlett, a former police detective admitted on Tuesday that she had helped mislead a judge into wrongly authorizing a raid of Breonna Taylor’s apartment in Louisville, Ky., setting in motion the nighttime operation in which the police fatally shot Ms. Taylor. Goodlett, pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of conspiracy, admitting that she had worked with another officer to falsify a search warrant application and had later lied to cover up their act. Inside a courtroom in downtown Louisville, Ms. Goodlett, 35, admitted that she had known there was not enough evidence to support approving the warrant, but had nonetheless failed to object when a fellow detective falsely wrote that the police knew Mr. Glover was receiving packages at Ms. Taylor’s home. You can bet that part of Goodlett’s plea agreement will require her to become a cooperating witness against the other officers involved in the fatal shooting.
Former President Trump filed suit seeking the appointment of a special master to review the documents seized from Mar-a-Lago by the FBI. On Tuesday, a Florida judge informed two lawyers representing Trump they had bungled routine paperwork to take part in a suit. “A sample motion can be found on the Court’s website,” the judge instructed them in her order.
It is a big “red flag” when the lawyers of a former president do not handle routine legal proceedings correctly.

On another note, I have read the letter that Trump’s lawyer, Evan Corcoran, received from Acting Archivist Debra Wall. The letter was released to the press by a supporter of Trump, who was trying to show that President Biden was involved in the decision to determine whether a former president could claim executive privilege. The letter clearly states Biden was not involved and it also shows that the N.A.R.A has been trying to retrieve the boxes of records from Trump since early 2021. See my Video/Image of the Day.
I get the feeling that Trump’s mishandling of these documents is going to be his legal downfall, just as tax evasion was Al Capone’s downfall.
Pleaase feel free to share my blog.

Orchid of the Day: Herman Moore, former Detroit Lion wide receiver. Moore’s company, Team 84, bought a season tickets package for the Pistons that included two hours of court time. at the Pistons training center. Moore said he wanted to use the court time to bring officers and the community together. Beginning at 5 p.m., they came together for the face-to-face. “We thought it’d be great, given the climate and just the connection the community and law enforcement need to have,” said Moore, CEO and Team 84 founder. “How do we get them together in a place where they can have that communication, how they can come together and have those critical conversations,”
Having kids playing cops in a basketball game is a great way to break down barriers of communication.
Onion of the Day: The front entrance service at Bay Harbor Golf Club. As a member of the Country Club of Boyne, I have golfing privileges at all 10 of Boyne’s courses including Bay Harbor. Thus, I can compare the service at each course. In my two years of membership, I am always amazed that Bay Harbor has the worst service, even though Bay Harbor is ranked in the top 100 courses in the country. Today I played the Quarry and Preserve at Bay Harbor which were in outstanding condition. As usual the scenery and views were outstanding, but the service does not compare to Crooked Tree, the Highlands or Boyne Mountain. It is not a good thing when people pay over $400 to play the course and there are no balls on the practice range and there is no one at the bag drop to help you with your clubs. Like so many businesses in northern Michigan Bay Harbor struggles with finding help just like everyone else.
Quote of the Day: “When she transmits, I am expected to receive.” A husband explaining how his wife expects him to hear what she is saying even though she is in another room.
Question of the Day: Will Trump’s handling of his presidential papers be his undoing?
