I cannot understand the reluctance of Congress to get a stimulus bill done. They need to stop working for power and their re-election and start working for the people. I have talked to no one who is not in favor of a stimulus bill. Please get it done before the end of the year.
We need to be thankful for all the secretaries of state and the integrity they have brought to their jobs in the most trying election in my lifetime. With all the srutiny and all the lawsuits, they have stayed strong and have done what they are supposed to do under the law without waiver whether republican or democrat. They have been a tremendous check and balance on the craziness that has occurred since November 3. Thank you.
For the last 30 years I have started most of my mornings getting the news from WJR 760 News Director Dick Haefner. He has spent his entire 50 years in the business in the Detroit area. He is old school. While morning radio host Paul W. Smith and Frank Beckmann are quick to provide their opinions on issues, Haefner reports the news without political comment. I cannot recall any instances where he let his political bias come through in his reporting of the news. He is a treasure that will be missed. Friday is his last day on the air.
Yesterday the US recorded over 3,000 deaths from Covid-19. Never in my wildest nightmare did I imagine we would have more deaths in one day than we had killed on 9/11/2001. Yet here we are, more than 10 months since our first reported death and we still do not have a national plan to combat this deadly disease. When historians look back on 2020, they are going to wonder, “What were they thinking? Why didn’t they do more? Why didn’t they do the ,basic things like shelter in place, wear masks, and practice good hygiene?” I ask myself that everyday.
“Call me a relic, call me what you will, say I’m old fashion, say I’m over the hill. Today’s music ain’t got the same soul, I like that old time rock and roll.”Bob Seger.
