Protesters demonstrated in front of Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s home Saturday as part of an effort challenging Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s 154,000-vote win in Michigan. The protest took place after dark on Saturday, at least two livestream videos posted to social media from the event show. Protesters chanted “Stop the Steal,” “We want an audit now,” “Legal votes only” and “Forensic audit” on megaphones outside Benson’s Detroit home, according to the videos.
I am a big supporter of free speech no matter whether I agree or not. However, I find it totally unacceptable to protest in front of a public officials home, unless it is a tax payer funded home, such as the White House, a governor’s or mayor’s taxpayer funded home, or a university president’s university funded home. To protest in front of Jocelyn Benson’s personal home is totally unacceptable.
The Rudy Giuliani circus is no longer funny. After attending the Michigan senate hearing Wednesday evening for nearly four hours mostly without a mask, Giuliani has tested positive for Covid-19, potentially exposing everyone in the room that evening. Who knows how many others will come down with Covid-19 as a result of this circus, which was totally unnecessary?
Congrats to the Lions and interim head coach Darrell Bevell for their come from behind 34-30 victory over “The Bears”. What was most impressive was the halftime adjustments made to the defense, which allowed the Lions to hold the Bears to only 7 points in the second half. It also made a key play by stripping the ball from the Bear’s quarterback and recovering the fumble deep in Bear territory to set up the game winning touchdown.
Michigan’s mens basketball team showed something yesterday that they have not showed in quite some time, a very deep bench. After falling behind early with a lack luster performance by the starters, Head Coach Juwan Howard, replaced the starters with the second team, who quickly turned a 12 point deficit into a 3 point half time lead. The second team ended up scoring 49 points which is unheard of in college basketball. Next year the team will have an even deeper bench when Coach Howard brings in the number one recruiting class in the country. It has been a long time since a Michigan basketball team has had this much depth. This will be very helpful in the upcoming B!G schedule, when sooner or later key players will get into foul trouble or an injury to a key player will occur. From what I see of this team, the person they can least afford to lose is 7 ft. 1 in. freshman center Hunter Dickenson. His skill level is very high on both ends of the court.
Stay safe, wear a mask when outside your home, social distance and wash your hands regularly.
