Thoughts for the Day, November 27, 2020: The day after

Inspite of the amount I ate yesterday, I made it to the gym by 6:15 this morning. Got my work out in, went home, picked up Leah and we made it to Petoskey by 2:00 PM. The weather isn’t bad in Petoskey so I was able to ride my bike outside for 30 minutes. However, it is pitch dark by 5:15. I forgot the nights are so much longer up here in the winter.

If Bob Quinn and Matt Patricia are still employed by the Lions after Monday, there is no hope for the Lions and their fans. Quinn and Patricia are lame ducks at best. Everyone knows it. Get rid of them now. There is no need to wait until the end of the season.

Leah and I were tired last night after dinner. We found out it is much more difficult to deliver Thanxgiving dinner than it is to host Thanxgiving dinner. We also found out you never have enough tupperware dishes. Our kids and their families were so appreciative. It was worth the effort.

The 2-3 Wolverines are playing the 0-5 Nittany Lions on Saturday. Both of these teams were rated in the top 25 at the start of the season, which tells you how much preseason ratings mean.

Being in Petoskey is so different in the winter. With no leaves on the trees we get a beautiful view of the first hole on the golf course that we don’t get in the summer. We also see some beautiful sunsets from our living room, which we also cannot see in the summer. You also learn why they paint battleships gray when you look out on the bay on a sunless winter day. Lake Michigan was battleship gray for as far as I could see.

The other day they asked me about mandatory drug testing. I said, “I believed in drug testing a long time ago. All through the sixties I tested everything.” Bob “Spaceman” Lee.
