Thoughts for the Day, October 8, 2020: There is no place in our society for violent extremists.

Michigan seems to be facing a new crisis. A crisis of violent extremists. In the last week we have had four very disturbing instances of violent extremists.

  1. Today’s arrest of six conspirators who were plotting to kidnap Governor Whitmer and take her somewhere near the Michigan and Wisconsin border to hold her accountable for her tyrant like actions and to try her for treason.
  2. Today’s arrest of seven members of the Wolverine Watchmen militia group who were plotting to target violence against police, instigate civil unrest and assist with the kidnap of Governor Whitmer.
  3. Last weeks shootout in which Eric Allport, 43 of Madison Heights, was killed during a shootout with FBI agents at a Madison Heights restaurant. Allport had a violent, turbulent life. Allport served an 11-year prison sentence for shooting at two police officers, was a boogaloo adherent  and played a minor role in the infamous Ruby Ridge standoff in 1992.
  4. And then this last one involving a southeast Michigan township worker who needed 13 stitches in his fingers after attempting to remove a razor-blade lined political sign that was too close to the road. The Commerce Township worker pulled over to remove two political signs that were 9 feet within the road right-of-way. When he grabbed a sign supporting President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign, he thought he’d been electrocuted; razor blades were taped along the edges of the sign. Bleeding heavily, he drove himself to a hospital where he received 13 stitches.

There is no place in our society for this type of extreme violence for political purposes or any other purpose. This type of violent action must be dealt with in a decisive manner. The people involved if proven guilty must receive stiff prison sentences. Our political and civic leaders must condemn this type of action publicly and privately. Any political leader who encourages or supports this type of action either directly or indirectly is not fit to hold office. Any politician who does not condemn this type of action is not fit to hold office. Period. End of discussion.

Or Portland, OR .. where for well over 120 days rioting & personal attacks have been launched against Police, Federal Agents & Citizens..

Seems it makes a difference when the Anarchists’ come to roost in Michigan..

    PS:

Whitmer still want to defund Michigan Law Enforcement Funding.. she promised a couple months ago??
